Frequently Asked Questions

General

What is my ring size?

Please read our journal post dedicated to helping you find a ring size for yourself or someone else if you are purchasing a gift.

Can you resize my ring after I receive it?

Yes, we provide one complimentary ring sizing within 6 months of your purchase if the ring has not already been sized or altered. Some designs have a limit to how many sizes can be changed, so be sure to confirm your size beforehand. Any rings that cannot be resized or have limitations with resizing will be noted in the product description.

Please note that resizing jewellery too many times could affect the integrity of the piece.

Are all of your pieces one of a kind?

Every piece of jewellery showcased on our website represents an original AJJ design. Handcrafted with care, each item possesses distinct and unique characteristics.

Our collections often feature gemstones that boast unconventional shapes, captivating colours, and varying sizes, making exact duplicates unattainable. While we ensure consistent quality across our jewellery, the handmade nature of our pieces results in each collection comprising one-of-a-kind treasures.

How do I care for my new jewellery?

For the best care of your jewellery, we advise using lukewarm, soapy water and a soft toothbrush to gently clean the piece.

Avoid wearing your jewellery while bathing, in bed, or during exercise, as exposure to water, sweat, or friction can affect its lustre. Additionally, refrain from directly spraying perfume or applying creams onto your jewellery.

Please avoid using commercial jewellery cleaning solutions, as they may be too harsh and could damage certain stones like turquoise, opal, malachite, and coral by removing their patina or affecting their porous nature.

Regularly inspect your jewellery for any loose gemstones. If you suspect a stone has become loose, kindly reach out to us for assistance. If you ever feel uncertain about caring for your new jewellery, don't hesitate to contact us for guidance.

Do you offer insurance?

No, you will be responsible for insuring your jewellery. If you have homeowners insurance, in most cases, your jewellery is covered by your contents insurance. It covers items if they are stolen or damaged in your home. To cover against accidental damage, you'll need to make sure your policy includes this.

Bespoke Jewellery

Can you customise your designs?

Absolutely! You can choose any of the existing AJJ designs and add your personal flair to it. Please get in touch to discuss your ideas further and we can begin customising your piece of jewellery. Contact us through our website or email hello@amyjenniferjewellery.com.

How long does a custom project typically take?

Our turnaround for custom projects is based on several factors - including revisions of CAD designs, complex custom pieces, and client stone sourcing and approval - but is typically 8-10 weeks from the initial deposit payment.

Bespoke orders typically require 2-4 weeks from the time the design is finalized. This manufacturing process may involve 3D printing your design in wax, casting it in your chosen metal, cleaning, and polishing, setting gemstones, and hallmarking your piece at the London Assay Office.

Do you source stones?

Absolutely! Sourcing beautiful and ethically sourced gems is an integral part of our design process, and it's something we're passionate about. We've built strong relationships with trusted gemstone dealers who share our commitment to high ethical standards and sustainable practices. This means you can be confident that every piece we create uses gems that not only enhance the design but also reflect our values.

Can you work with my gemstones?

Yes! We can create new designs using your existing gemstone jewellery. Your gemstones will need to be assessed to ensure they can be reused in a new design, there is no guarantee we can use your gemstones but we will always work to find the best solution for you.

We only work with heirloom stones and stones that we have sourced ourselves.

Please get in touch if you are looking to remodel your existing jewellery!

Can you replicate another ring design I like?

No, we do not copy or replicate the designs of our fellow jewellery designers. If you fall in love with an exact style then we recommend that you work directly with the original designer. However, if you have a series of sample styles that you like and would like a design unique to you we can collaborate with you to make your perfect piece.

How will I know what my custom piece looks like before it is finished?

Following the selection of your preferred design, Amy Jennifer Jewellery will provide a series of CAD (computer-aided design) renderings of the final piece to help you visualise its proportions and see it in 3D. The jewellery is not made into metal until you are 100% satified with the design.

Do you offer gemstone certification?

In the custom design process, we might present diamonds and/or gemstones with existing lab reports. These reports meticulously detail the gem's analysis, ensuring its quality, authenticity, and origin. Yet, not all gemstones come with certification.

It is possible to have your gemstones certified if not already. However, this involves sending the gemstone or jewellery to a reputable gemological laboratory (such as the GIA) for assessment. Please be aware that this incurs an additional fee, covering the assessment along with shipping and insurance costs for safe transportation.
